(BEDFORD) - The Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit from Crane was dispatched to Bedford North Lawrence High School Wednesday at 8:33 p.m. after a report of a possible bomb.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, officers were called to the high school at 8:33 p.m. after a school official was notified about a possible bomb at the school.

"Once we secured the area we asked for the Crane bomb squad to bring out a K-9 to search the school," Craig says. "Nothing was located."

Craig says the incident is still under investigation.

"We take threats like this very serious and our investigation is continuing," Craig says.

Anyone with information about the threat is asked to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.
