(BLOOMINGTON) - In recognition of National Adopt-A-Dog Month, the Shelter is promoting dog adoptions with a "Woofstock" theme and special giveaways.
Dog adoption fees are reduced to $40 for the entire month of October. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered.
Normal adoption fees are $75 for dogs younger than 5 years and $55 for those 5 years and older. All dog adopters will also be able to choose a new toy, leash or dog coat to take home for their new best friend.
Adoptable dogs will make appearances at the following events during the month of October:
- Saturday, Oct. 4: Dogtober Fest Mega Dog Adoption Event at the Woodlawn Shelter in Bryan Park from 2 to 4 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 11: Adorable Adoptables at the Monroe County Public Library from 2 to 4 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 12: Hops for Hounds at Upland Brewery from 5 to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 25: Farmer's Market from 9 to 11 a.m.
In addition to these events, adoptable animals can be visited at the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter, 3410 S. Walnut, on Mondays, Wednesday, Thursdays and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.
