(BLOOMFIELD) - A Bloomfield man was arrested after police say he was involved in a traffic accident and was under the influence of drugs.

Police arrested 24-year-old Dustin T. Thompson on charges of possession of meth and marijuana, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, and OWI.

Thompson admitted to having both marijuana and suboxin in his system.

According to Lt. Deputy Marshal Marvin Holt of the Bloomfield Police Department, officers were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident and that the driver appeared to be intoxicated.

When police arrived they found that Thompson could not stand and he appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. As police were putting Thompson in handcuffs they found he was holding a plastic bag in his hand that contained marijuana.

Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Harvey Holt and his K-9 Layla then found a baggy in the rear passenger door that contained crystal meth. Thompson told police the meth did not belong to him, but someone else.

At the Greene County Sheriff's Department, Thompson was given three standardized field sobriety tests and he failed all three.

Thompson then refused to take a chemical test. Circuit Court Judge Chip Allen then approved a search warrant for Thompson's blood, which was taken at Greene County General Hospital.

After the blood-draw, Thompson reportedly admitted to having marijuana and suboxin in his system.
