(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was sentenced to house arrest after he pleaded guilty to dealing drugs.
36-year-old Jeffrey Howe of Bedford was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Michael Robbins to eight years for two felony charges of dealing in a Schedule III controlled substance. Judge Robbins suspended four of those years and place Howe on two years supervised probation and two years unsupervised probation. The other four years will be served on electronic monitoring.
Two counts of maintaining a common nuisance were dismissed.
Robbins sentenced Howe to electronic monitoring because he is the father of four children and has full custody of his 14-year-old son and joint custody of his 2-year-old daughter. He also pays child support to his 10-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter.
Howe is in a drug recovery program and has been clean of drug and alcohol for a year and is participating in Alcoholic Anonymouse since February and has been working with a Centerstone therapist.
Judge Robbins ordered Howe to continue that path and was also ordered to participate in the ADAPT program and passing drug screens.
Robbins warned Howe that if he fails to comply with the court's order he will go to prison.
