Two Hurt In Crash On Ind. 37

(BEDFORD) - Two people were injured in a crash on Ind. 37 Friday afternoon.

Northbound traffic was stalled during the accident at 1:33 p.m. south of Art Gallery Road.

According to a Lawrence County Police Department report, 79-year-old John M. Heinlein of Plymouth was driving a 2005 Gulf Touring Cruise motor home north on the state highway. The motor home was in the left lane, 72-year-old Eleanor K. Silverthorn, of Mitchell, was driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla north on Ind. 37. The Toyota was in the right lane.

For an unknown reason, police say, Silverthorn's Toyota veered into the left lane, striking the motor home.

The Toyota went off the east side of the road, where it came to rest facing east. Heinlein was able to get the motor home stopped in the turn lane for Art Gallery Road.

Silverthorn suffered upper arm injuries, police reported. A passenger in her car, 71-year-old John Silverthorn of Mitchell suffered internal injuries to his abdomen and pelvis.
