Last updated on Tuesday, September 16, 2014

(VAN BUREN) - A nice Sunday afternoon ride ended tragically when a motorcyclist and his passenger were killed in a crash on Ind. 135 north of Story near the entrance to Brown County State Park’s Horseman’s Camp.

51-year-oldĀ Teresa Lynn Glisson of Beech Grove and 59-year-old Michael Lewis of Indianapolis died at the scene from skull fractures. Neither was wearing a helmet.

According to a Brown County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Mike Moore, the motorcycle was traveling down the hill north of the Horseman's Camp entrance when it went off the right side of the road, striking a speed limit sign and downed tree trunk that was lying over the embankment on the east side of the road, according to a press release from the sheriff's office. The motorcycle flipped and ejected both Glisson and Lewis.

Assisting at the scene were Department of Natural Resources Indiana Conservation Officers Joe Tenbarge and Kurt Kinser, Columbus Regional Hospital ambulance paramedics, the Van Buren volunteer fire department, Lifeline and Brown County Coroner's Office.
