(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested after the driver crashed into a tree and then fled the scene.
Lawrence County police were called to the crash site after a witness saw the vehicle crash into a tree in the 600 block of Old Ind. 37 North at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived, they found the vehicle at an establishment on Trodgen Lane. Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig says the vehicle had heavy damage on the passenger side.
The passenger, 25-year-old Kasey Browning of Bedford was not injured, but was checked out by an ambulance crew before she was arrested on a warrant for petition to revoke probation.
The driver, 29-year-old Anthony Burns of Bedford, was not injured and was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and OWI endangerment.
