(LINTON) - Three Linton men have been arrested on warrants and are facing felony charges of forgery and theft after allegedly taking checks to purchase gas and other items, and receiving cash back to buy synthetic marijuana.

Police arrested 22-year-old Kyle R. Bedwell, 23-year-old and Braylin L. Cullison and 25-year-old Joshua M. Marsh.

The investigation began in July, when a man contacted the Greene County Sheriff's Department reporting his minor granddaughter had stolen five checks from his home and her male friends had signed and cashed them.

The check's belonged to the girl's great grandmother.

The girl told police she was in Linton with Bedwell, Cullison and Marsh on July 15 when they all wanted to get high but had no money to buy synthetic marijuana.

The checks totaling more than $500 were forged and then used at two Linton gas stations.

Bedwell faces preliminary charges of six counts of forgery, and misdemeanor theft. His bond was set at $25,000 with an optional cash amount of $2,500.

Cullison is preliminarily charged with five counts of forgery and misdemeanor theft. His bond was set at $21,000 with an optional cash amount of $2,100

Marsh faces preliminary charges of six counts of forgery and misdemeanor theft. His bond was set at $25,000 with an optional cash amount of $2,500.

Each of the men have posted bond and were released from jail.
