(MITCHELL) - Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash on Rabbitsville Road, north of Stevens Lane, Friday afternoon.

According to a Lawrence County Police Department report, 75-year-old Francis D. Hilyard of Mitchell had just pulled his 2010 Toyota Prius out of his driveway on Rabbitsville Road when his car was struck from behind by a vehicle driving by 33-year-old Andrew Lee of Orleans.

Lee told police he crested the hill in his 1992 Ford Ranger and didn't have time to stop.

Police say Lee "Couldn't concentrate long enough to tell me exactly what happened."

Lee and his passenger, 23-year-old James Freeman of Orleans, were taken to Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital to be treated for various injuries.

72-year-old Ruth Hilyard of Mitchell, who was a passenger in Hilyard's Prius, complained of neck and back pain and was taken to IU Health Bedford Hospital for treatment.

Police say the accident is still under investigation.
