Seymour Man Dies From Drug Overdose

Last updated on Wednesday, September 24, 2014

(JENNINGS CO.) - A Seymour man found unresponsive outside a Jennings County hospital has died, apparently from a drug overdose.

Jennings County Coroner Gene Rudicel made that determination after an autopsy was performed on 53-year-old Gary Fields on Monday at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

That autopsy was conducted by Dr. Wes Whitler, a pathologist.

Rudicel says the cause of death is unofficial, pending toxicology results, and he could not comment on the type of drug or drugs that might have led to the overdose.
