(ORANGE CO.) - Orange County REMC would like to warn the public of a telephone fraud that is targeting members.
Several members have received calls from telephone number 800-877-0109 stating they had not paid electric bill, the account was in "red flag status" and were subject to disconnection. Members were then asked to make a payment immediately.
Please be advised this is a scam. Orange County REMC recommends anyone who has given credit or debit card information to contact his or her financial institution immediately to cancel the payment.
