Purdue Extension And United Way Conduct Poverty Workshop

(BEDFORD) - Purdue Extension and United Way of South Central Indiana are bringing a workshop about lifting people from poverty to Lawrence County.

Bridges Out of Poverty will show those who work in education, social, health and legal fields how to redesign programs to better serve their clients and build skill sets to help others move from welfare to work.

The two­-day workshop, Oct. 2­ and Oct. 3, will take place at the Lawrence County Museum, 929 15th St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The cost of attending the first day is $40 and includes lunch and a course book. Cost of the second day is $25 and includes lunch. Attendees must attend the first day to attend the second. Scholarships are available.

The deadline to register is Thursday.
