Otis Park Golf Course Looking For New Greens Superintendent

(BEDFORD) - Otis Park Golf Course Greens Superintendent Brice Gordon is no longer working for the city.

Gordon, who was responsible for the care and maintenance of the golf course, has been superintendent for more than a decade.

Bedford Parks Director Barry Jeskewich says the position is currently open, but will be filled.

Jeskewick will first post the position in-house and if a qualified candidate does not apply he will seek candidates from outside the parks department.

In other parks department business:

  • Renovations at Wilson Park are in progress. The new ball diamond has been graded and irrigated.
  • A window at the concession stand at Otis park was replaced.
  • John Lowery Municipal Pool has been drained and closed for the season.
  • Aaron Harrell, course manager at Otis, says the golf course will be the site of the IHSAA girls golf sectional Saturday.
  • A Fall Junior Golf Clinic is planned for Oct. 6-8 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The program is designed for boys and girls in second through eighth grades.
