(BEDFORD) - A Mitchell man was arrested after he fled from police in a vehicle Saturday afternoon.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called about a man who had a suspended driver's license for life operating a vehicle near the Parkview track.
Officers couldn't find 28-year-old Raymond Marshall at that location, but he was spotted a short time later.
Parsley says officers were working an accident on Mitchell Road when they saw Marshall drive by the accident scene. An officer followed Marshall and that is when he sped up and attempted to flee from police.
Marshall then turned on Sand Pit Road and the officer used the police vehicle's loud speaker to request that Marshall stop.
Marshall stopped, but then refused to get out of the vehicle.
"Officers had to forcibly remove Mr. Marshall from the vehicle," Parsley says. "He was then arrested and taken to jail. The numerous traffic violations he was issued happened during that pursuit."
Marshall was arrested on charges of driving a vehicle while having a lifetime suspension, resisting arrest by fleeing in a vehicle, resisting arrest by force and cited for reckless driving, unsafe lane movement, false registration, driving left of center and failure to use a turn signal.
