Man Arrested After Injuring Two People And Setting Car On Fire

(BEDFORD) - An Owensburg, Kentucky man was arrested Saturday night after he injured a man and woman and then set another individual’s car on fire.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, officers were called to a home in the 3600 block of South Leatherwood Road at after a report of a vehicle on fire and a battery.

When police and firefighters from Shawswick, Marshall and Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Departments arrived there was flames shooting out the back window of the 1997 Plymouth.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Officers arrested 52-year-old Roy Terrell after they determined he was wanted on two warrants for failure to appear.

While investigating, a woman told police that Terrell had injured her after he swung a stick at her, injuring her hand and arm. The woman signed a battery affidavit against Terrell.

Another man at the scene told police that he was attacked by Terrell after Terrell had allegedly set the car on fire and then the man extinguished the blaze. The man suffered a black eye and swelling to his face. He also signed a battery affidavit against Terrell.

Terrell then lit the vehicle on fire again.

Terrell is now facing additional charges of two counts of battery causing injury and arson.
