(DUBOIS CO.) - A Florida man used a Bobcat Loader to break a glass door of the Dubois County Division of Family Services at 695 W. 2nd Street in Jasper on Thursday morning.
According to police, they received a complaint of a man driving a Bobcat Loader down 2nd Street from Clay Street at about 2:05 a.m.
The man was knocking down street signs and hitting light poles. When officers arrived, they located the Bobcat, later identified as belonging to Jay-Kem, Inc., outside the Division of Family Services office.
The bobcat had been used to break the glass door on the east side of the building.
They found 29-year-old Korey Groover of, Davenport, Fla. laying on the floor inside one of the offices.
Officers arrested Groover, who stole the Bobcat and was intoxicated. He told police he didn't remember anything after leaving JR's Bar on Clay Street.
A syringe was found in Groover's pocket as the keys to the Bobcat. Groover was taken to Memorial Hospital and had a blood-alcohol content of .18 percent. He also had marijuana in his system. He was arrested on felony charges of theft, burglary, possession of a syringe, and a misdemeanor criminal mischief.
