Climate Change Lecture In Bloomington Wednesday

(BLOOMINGTON) - The chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will speak at Indiana University Wednesday.

Rajendra K. Pachauri will give an open lecture about climate change science and policy at 5:30 p.m. in Presidents Hall at Franklin Hall.

The lecture is the beginning of a series of lectures from international chief climate negotiators. It is timed to lead up to the 2014 U.N. Climate Conference on Sept 23 and the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Paris in December 2015.

Pachauri has been chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, based in Geneva, Switzerland, since 2002. It is the leading international organization to evaluate climate change, and the panel shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore.
