(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Council voted to submit a 2015 budget of $21,321,072 to the state for approval.
The total allocated within the General Fund is $10,127,211.
The 2015 budget is up by $981,703 and includes a 2 percent raise for county employees.
After the budget was approved, Sheriff Sam Craig received permission from the council to purchase new aluminum shelving for the jail's kitchen using money from the jail's commissary fund.
