(MITCHELL) - The Z102 (WPHZ-FM) 2014 Persimmon Idol adult winner was Kenna Lee of Mitchell who performed ‘Me and Bobby McGee’ by Roger Miller in front of a gathered audience Saturday afternoon.
Taking the youth title was Trenadee Stagg of Bedford who performed singing 'Skinny Love' by Birdy.
Each won a Grand Prize Package including a Persimmon Idol trophy, a Z102 t-shirt, a $100 cash prize and a guest appearance on 'Insert Morning Show Title Here', the Z102 morning show weekday mornings from 7-11 a.m. They will also be a guest on Homespun Edge this Friday at 5 p.m.
Taking second in the adult division were Josh Landers of Bedford. Josh performed 'Summer Love' from Grease. Stephanie Bishop of Mitchell was third, singing 'Gun Power and Lead' by Miranda Lambert.
Runners up in the youth division were Chris Sipes of Bedford who sang 'Mercy' by Duffy and Haylynn Lee who sang 'I'm Alright' by Jo Dee Massina.

Rob Helton
Rob Helton is a former Mitchell resident who attended high school here and also married a local girl, Amy Slavens Helton. Rob has been singing professionally for many years and has been a solo performer since 1994. Rob attended Indiana Wesleyan University and the Stamps-Baxter School of Music and was the highest placing male artist in the 2007 National Quartet Convention Solo Talent Contest. His debut album includes nationally played songs.
Rob still sings professionally and is also employed as Chief of Current Operations for the Simulation Division at Camp Atterbury. Rob is also a former Marine.
Kayla Kirkman
Kayla Kirkman began singing at the age of 4 and entered her first competition at the age of 8 at the Lawrence County 4-H Fair. She has performed in Judah Idol, Persimmon Idol and various plays at the Little Theatre in Bedford.
Since winning the 2013 Persimmon Idol, Kayla placed second place at the Judah Idol. As a Sophomore at BNL she is involved in the Bedford North Lawrence Choir.Kayla is also a member of the HillCrest Christian Church in Bedford.
John Carl Isom
JC Isom is a local singer and songwriter as well as the 2013 Persimmon Idol. JC and his wife, Carie reside in Mitchell with their two daughters; Nora and Charlotte. He is a 2005 MHS graduate and a graduate of the Barbor Academy.
John Carl discovered his musical passion and talents in high school but has only been performing for two years. John is a member of The Bride of Christ Fellowship in Mitchell.
