ISP Trooper George Wooten Promoted To Sergeant

(JASPER) - Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter promoted Trooper George Wooten to the rank of sergeant to serve as a District Squad Leader for the Jasper Post.

Wooten is a native of Jackson County and a 2000 graduate of Brownstown Central High School. After high school, Wooten earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2004.

Wooten graduated from the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in 2004. He was assigned to the Toll Road, transferring to the Jasper District in 2006 to patrol Perry County. As a member of the Indiana State Police, Wooten has served as a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon, a Field Training Officer, and a Firearms Instructor.
