Indianapolis Man Injured In Brown Co. ATV Accident

(BROWN CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an off road vehicle crash that injured 53-year-old Chris Niemeyer of Indianapolis. 

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to a property off Valley Branch Road in Brown County.

Niemeyer was operating his Polaris 800 Sportsman ORV on his property in Brown County when he lost control of the vehicle causing it to flip and roll on top of him, causing injury to his head and chest.

Niemeyer was riding on the property with his friends, who called 911.

Brown County EMS transported Niemeyer to Van Buren School, were he was transferred to Life Line and flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. 

Niemeyer was not wearing a helmet or any other protective equipment. At his time no charges are being filed, however the case is still under investigation. 

Other assisting agencies include Van Buren Fire Department and Brown County Sheriff's Department.
