Free Fraud Prevention Workshop In Linton On Wednesday

(LINTON) - Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller’s Office invites local residents to attend a free fraud prevention workshop in Linton on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

The Greene County Daily World reports, a presentation will be given on the latest scams and how consumers can protect themselves from becoming a victim of fraud or identity theft.

Participants do not have to register and there is no charge to attend.

The workshop will be held at 12 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, located at 9779 Indiana 54 in Linton.

The event is sponsored by the Linton Rotary.

Amy Wardlow, outreach services specialist with the Attorney General's Office, will share information on the tactics fraudsters use to convince victims to send money and other helpful information on protecting consumers.

The program will also include the viewing of WFYI's documentary "Fleeced - Speaking Out Against Senior Financial Abuse."
