(JENNINGS CO.) - A five vehicle crash resulted in 5 drivers being injured on Thursday afternoon.

According to Indiana State Police Master Trooper Stephen Wheeles, at approximately 3:40 p.m. a 2003 Kia Spectra driven by 60-year-old John C. Shipley was westbound on U.S. 50 near C.R. 900W and was preparing to make a left turn into a private driveway.

Shipley was being followed by two dump trucks

The first dump truck, a 1996 Mack driven by 46-year-old Loney McKain of Vallonia was slowing for the Kia when the second dump truck, a 2007 Mack driven by 54-year-old Steven C. Baker of Vallonia, was unable to stop and struck the 1996 Mack in the rear end.

The 1996 Mack was pushed left of center where it struck an eastbound 2004 Toyota Sienna driven by 23- year-old Christian Stewart.

A 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by 19-year-old Breanna Nobllitt of North Vernon, was also eastbound behind the Toyota Sienna and struck it in the rear end causing the Toyota to strike the Kia.

All five drivers suffered minor injuries and Shipley, Stewart, and Nobblitt were transported to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour by private vehicle where they were treated and released.

The other two drivers were treated at the scene by Jennings County EMS officials.

The crash remains under investigation and could result in traffic charges being filed to at least one driver.

MM/.Tpr. Wheeles was assisted at the scene by other troopers, Jennings County Sheriff's Department, Jennings County EMS, and Spencer Township Fire Department.
