(VAN BUREN TWP) - A Fire destroyed a home at the intersection of State Road 135 and Valley Branch Road next to the Van Buren Elementary School Thursday night.
The fire was reported at 6:30 p.m., by a passerby reporting the home was engulfed in flames and the trees were on fire.
At 10 a.m. Friday Van Buren firefighters were called back to the home to hit hot spots.
All that remained standing was the stone chimney.
Van Buren Elementary Principal Christy Wrightsman says multiple Brown County Schools students lived there, two of them Van Buren students.
The school is accepting monetary donations and gift cards to give to the family. They do not need clothing because of all the donations they have already received.
