Last updated on Thursday, September 25, 2014

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police were investigating after a young boy allegedly threatened a Wendy’s cashier with a steak knife.

Police were called to the restaurant in the 600 block of South College Mall Road just before 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

A cashier told police the boy, estimated to be 8 or 9 years old, ordered a cheeseburger and then ran out of the store - saying he forgot his wallet.

The boy came back inside and slammed the handle of a steak knife on the counter threatening the cashier.

The boy then ran from the store leaving behind the cheeseburger.
