Bedford Taking Steps To Address Flooding

Last updated on Tuesday, September 30, 2014

(BEDFORD) - Bedford officials are taking steps to address flooding issues near Eastern and Western avenues.

The city hired Infrastructures Systems Inc. of Orleans to address an issue in the alley between Eastern and Western Avenue and 27th and 29th streets.

Director of Bedford City Utilities Misty Adams say the alley is higher than the adjacent ground allowing water to pool causing flooding to residents' yards. ISI will install new inlets next to the pavement and run pipes from those inlets to the storm sewer.

The goal is to drain the water away before the pools form. Adams hopes to have the work done by winter. ISI will tackle the project for 67,584.
