Last updated on Monday, August 25, 2014

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police arrested 18-year-old Caleb Jeffrey Ikerd of Bedford and 21-year-old Ambrose Daniel Voltz of Connersville on charges of robbery and battery after police were called to a fight at the intersection of East 17 and Washington Streets just after 3 a.m. on Thursday.

According to Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider, the victims told police they were walking home to an IU dormitory when they were accosted by a group of men.

One victim was punched causing him to fall to the ground. The men then took his cell phone and cash from his pockets. The victims were able to give police a description of the men who attacked them and they were arrested a short time later.

Whether there are more suspects or not is unknown at this time, Crider says.

The victims received bruises and scrapes, but neither received further treatment.

Both men were taken to the Monroe County Jail and are being held on a $15,000 surety, $500 cash bond.
