Two Banks Robbed In Jackson County

(JACKSON CO.) - Jackson County Police are investigating a second bank robbery reported within an hour of the first robbery in Jackson County.

The latest robbery was reported at about 11:45 a.m. at The Peoples Bank branch at 310 N. Armstrong St. in Crothersville.

Police say the suspect in that robbery is in his mid 20s and 5-foot, 8-inches tall.

The man, who reportedly did not display a weapon, was wearing a Mr. Rogers T-shirt, a black shirt underneath, a light-colored hat, knee-length camouflage shorts and black shoes. He also had red hair and distinctive sideburns.

That robbery followed on the heels of a robbery reported at about 11 a.m. at Centra Credit Union at 520 S. Jackson Park Drive in Seymour.

The suspect in that robbery, fled south from the bank on foot.

That incident led to a lockdown at Margaret R. Brown Elementary School, located just a block west of the bank on Miller Lane.
