(BROWNSTOWN) - A Seymour man has been sentenced to a 12-year prison term for having sexual contact with children.
47-year-old Stephen Todd Stamper of Seymour pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Class C felony, and one count of child solicitation, a Class D felony.
Jackson Circuit Judge Richard Poynter ordered that six of the 12 years be spent behind bars and the other half to be served on supervised probation through the Jackson Jennings Community Corrections Department, according to court documents.
Stamper was arrested in August of 2013 on 10 charges. Those charges included Class C felony charges of child molesting, three counts of sexual misconduct and four counts of attempted sexual misconduct. He was also charged with two Class D felony counts of child solicitation. Some of those charges were dropped after he accepted a plea deal.
