Seymour Streets Flood After Semi Hits Fire Hydrant

Last updated on Monday, August 11, 2014

(SEYMOUR) - A semi struck and broke a fire hydrant outside a Seymour manufacturing plant Friday morning causing an estimated 80,000 gallons of water to gush down a busy street for 40 minutes.

21-year-old Azat Akynov of Chicago was driving the semi into Home Products International's parking lot on West Ninth Street to pick up a load, when he turned too sharp and struck the hydrant breaking it off.
