Last updated on Tuesday, August 19, 2014

(SALEM) - The developers of WalMart on Salem’s eastside plan to “restore riparian buffer” near the city’s new walking path that follows Brock Creek in return for disturbing streams and wetlands on the 27-acre site near the intersection of State Road 56 and Kimball Boulevard.

The planned retail store is expected to be more than 150,000 square feet and employee 300 to 400 Walmart employees and additional employees for restaurants and ancillary businesses located around the facility.

Construction should begin early in 2015 and should be completed by the original estimate of Fall 2015.
