Orleans Police Dept. Host National Night Out

Last updated on Friday, August 1, 2014

(ORLEANS) - The Orleans Police Department will host this year’s annual National Night Out Program on Tuesday, from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m.

Residents are asked to lock their doors, turn on their porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and the Orleans police force.

Chief Roy McFarland says residents are invited to the police station to enjoy free hotdogs and soft drinks. Officers will be photographing and fingerprinting children and will have a variety of free giveaways and the police car will be on display for children to sit in.

McFarland says the goal is to promote community safety with a police-community partnership, citizen involvement and neighborhood unity.
