(NASHVILLE) - The Town of Nashville and a Michigan Man, who accused a marshal of tasing him while he was having a seizure, have reached a financial agreement.
Details of the out-of-court settlement are sealed.
According to the lawsuit, 51-year-old Robert Newell alleges he and his wife were visiting Brown County State Park and were having lunch at The Ordinary restaurant when he suffered a seizure and fell to the floor.
An ambulance was called and Deputy Town Marshal Jeff Brown responded.
Newell, was unable to comply with emergency medical workers directions and Brown intervened and administering two Taser shocks to Newell.
Brown placed Newell in handcuff behind his back and he was transported to a Columbus hospital.
According to the lawsuit, Newell suffered injuries to his wrists that required surgery and suffered neck and back injuries from the Taser.
Police and town hall representatives would not comment on the case or discuss personnel matters, however the town website no longer list Brown as a deputy marshal.
