Monroe Lake's Flora Field Day Sunday

Last updated on Friday, August 29, 2014

(MONROE LAKE) - Practice plant identification skills with a naturalist at Monroe Lake’s Flora Field Day on Sunday, Aug. 31.

The program runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The focus will be on identifying late-summer flowering plants. No registration is required.

Participants should meet in the Paynetown State Recreation Area overflow parking area, which is on the right after you pass the gatehouse.

Jill Vance, Monroe Lake's interpretive naturalist, recommends bringing a wildflower field guide (if you have one), bug spray, notebook and pencil, hat, sunglasses and a camera.
