Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann To Announce Two Stellar Communities Today

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann will announce the two 2014 Stellar Communities Designees today at 10 a.m. at the Indiana State Fair.

The announcement is part of the Indiana State Fair's Community Development Day celebrations.

Six finalists received funds to prepare an in-depth Strategic Investment Plan followed by site visits conducted by the state selection team. The 2014 Stellar Communities finalists are the City of Decatur, City of Huntingburg, City of Marion, City of Mount Vernon, Town of Nashville and City of Wabash.

Launched in 2011, Stellar Communities pools funding sources to assist communities in achieving their long-term comprehensive strategic goals for targeted areas of their community. The program is a collaboration between the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT).
