Linton Girl Spends Summer Raising Funds For Wounded Warrior Project

Last updated on Tuesday, August 5, 2014

(LINTON) - 10-year-old Makenna O’Bryan is spending her summer making potholders and growing cucumbers to sell.

Her proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Wounded Warrior Project is a veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of September 11, 2001.

The Greene County Daily World reports O'Bryan got the idea from watching America's Got Talent after seeing an injured veteran tell about his experience with Wounded Warriors Program and how they helped him.

Currently she has raised just over $145, but hope to have $1,000 to donate.

To make a donation contact Chelsey Bough at the Greene County Daily World via email at chelseyisu@gmail.com or by calling 812-847-4487.
