Lawsuit Between Barr Reeve Teacher's Association and Superintendent Travis Madison Could End

Last updated on Thursday, August 14, 2014

(MONTGOMERY) - An announcement could come this week concerning the lawsuit between the Barr Reeve Teacher’s Association and School Superintendent Travis Madison.

Members of the Barr-Reeve Classroom Teachers Association filed charges of unfair labor practice against Madison.

Court documents allege that Madison hired new teachers at higher salaries than those received by teachers with more experience that were already working for Barr-Reeve Community Schools.

The suit also claimed Madison eliminated two teaching positions that had previously been held by women and did not first discuss the elimination of those positions with the teachers association.

Madison says he expects the agreement to be announced soon.
