Last updated on Tuesday, August 5, 2014

(FRENCH LICK) - The PGA of America announced today that junior volunteer positions for the 76th Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid are now open for registration.

Juniors, ages 16-21, will have the opportunity to assist with various on-course committees during the event including standard bearer, monster board and leader board. Over 1,700 volunteers will be needed for next year's Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid at The Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort, May 19-24, 2015. Volunteer registration has filled nearly 50% of available spots since it opened June 1.

"Volunteers are an integral part of hosting a Major Championship," said Bryan Karns, Championship Director. "A Major Championship will bring volunteers from all over the U.S. who will help us create a first-class event for our fans and players. This region has brought the PGA of America a lot of success with incredible volunteers and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Southern Indiana in spring 2015."

The PGA of America manages 22 unique volunteer committees, ranging from marshals to leader boards, contestant transportation and merchandise. All volunteers will spend a minimum of 16 hours on-site during Championship Week and will receive daily access to the Championship. Many volunteers will receive inside the ropes access during their volunteer shifts, along with an inside look at Championship Operations.

Volunteering is free for juniors and the adult price is $130, which will include an official volunteer uniform, discount to the Championship Shop and food and beverage during the Championship. All volunteers will also receive a free round of golf at The Donald Ross Course at French Lick Resort.
