Bloomington Drug Bust Nets $200,000 In Cash, Guns, 14 Pounds Of Marijuana

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police seized 14 pounds of marijuana, firearms and more than $200,000 cash from a home on South Roger Street on Sunday.

Officers arrested 29-year-old Chaun Christie of Bloomington on a charge of dealing marijuana, a level five felony. He was booked into the Monroe County Jail at 12:32 a.m. Monday and released about two hours later after posting $500 cash bond.

According to a press release from Bloomington Police Capt. Joe Qualters, city police and DEA agents, armed with a search warrant went to the Christie's home and seized an estimated an estimated 14 pounds of marijuana, more than $200,000 in cash, two handguns, a 2012 Range Rover and a 2005 Cadillac Escalade.

Bloomington Police Capt. Joe Qualters says the arrest is part of an ongoing federal investigation and Christie's arrest will make a large dent in the marijuana trade in the Bloomington area.
