Bloomington Man Charged With Battery After He Injured His Infant Daughter

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested on battery charges Thursday after he covered her mouth in an attempt to make her stop crying.

Police say when Philip Wilcoxen's 9-month-old daughter wouldn't sleep, Wilcoxen allegedly told police he covered her mouth with his hand.

24-year-old Wilcoxen of 4113 Heatherwood Lane, was arrested on a preliminary felony charge of battery.

The crime was reported after the infant's mother took her to the hospital for treatment of bruises to the infant's face.
