Last updated on Monday, August 18, 2014

(BEDFORD) - An intoxicated Bedford man was arrested after he resisted arrested early this morning.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to McDonalds around 2:41 a.m. this morning after a report of a possible intoxicated driver in the drive through.

Police were given a Description on the vehicle and spotted it on 16th Street.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and that is when 49-year-old Scott Prince sped up and traveled through the Tractor Supply lot, the JayC Food Plus lot and the Burger King lot.

A second Bedford Police officer was able to block Prince's truck at the Burger King exit on Beech Street.

Parsley says, officers ordered Prince to exit the vehicle several times and he refused.

"They asked him to put his hands up and he did at first and then put them back down and refused to exit the truck," Parsley says. "After several attempts to get Mr. Prince to exit the truck officers approached the vehicle and had to remove Mr. Prince by force."

Prince continued to struggle with officers while they placed him in handcuffs.

Prince was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, resisting arrest by fleeing and force.
