Bedford Man Arrested After Becoming Combative At Hospital

Last updated on Tuesday, August 5, 2014

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after police found him lying in the parking lot of Anytime Fitness Thursday afternoon.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the business after witnesses saw 27-year-old Jeffrey Novak dumped from a vehicle.

When officers arrived at 4:11 p.m. they found Novak on the ground and unable to communicate with police because his speech was slurred and he kept passing out.

Officers called an ambulance and Novak was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. While at the hospital Novak was belligerent and combative with hospital employees and police and refused to cooperate.

After being checked for injuries, Novak was taken to jail on charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and on a warrant for being a habitual traffic violator.
