(GUTHRIE) - A Bedford woman was injured after she crashed her car to avoid hitting a deer Saturday.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 51-year-old Beverly Kern was traveling east on River Road when a deer ran into the path of her 2003 Toyota Tundra.

According to police, Kern swerved the vehicle to avoid hitting the deer and that is when the vehicle went off the south side of the road, rolled over and came to a stop against a tree.

Kern suffered cuts to her lower arm and elbow during the incident.
