(BEDFORD) - Bedford police are investigating the theft of a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu from a home in the 1800 block of H Street.
The vehicle was involved in an accident in the construction zone on Ind. 37 at 7:52 a.m. Monday morning, but it wasn't reported missing until 3:42 p.m. after the owner noticed the vehicle was missing.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, after the crash the vehicle was towed and the driver was given a ride by a Lawrence County officers to a home in Oolitic.
"They (Lawrence County Police) were able to give us the name of the driver," Parsley says. "The investigation is ongoing."
