(OOLITIC) - A Springville man was arrested after he crashed his vehicle on Hoosier Avenue in Oolitic Wednesday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 61-year-old Rickie Walls was traveling north on Hoosier Avenue at 11:39 p.m. when a deer ran from the east side of the road into the path of Walls' 1997 Geo Metro.
Walls swerved to miss the deer and went off the west side of the road and struck the fence at the old gym.
Walls was not injured, but was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
