Reward Offered After 30 Dead Cats Discovered In Martinsville

Last updated on Thursday, July 17, 2014

(MARTINSVILLE) - Authorities in Morgan County are looking into a disturbing case of animal abuse.

More than 30 cats were found dead in Martinsville. Several cats were recently discovered near a dumpster and were laid out side by side.

Neighbors said the cats appeared to be almost ritualistically organized.

In the last two months, neighbors estimate finding 30 wounded or dead cats in the same area.

Alicia Fouty with the Morgan County Humane Society was searching for someone whom she suspects is a disturbed individual. The shelter was offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
