Remains Of Missing Orange County Native Found In Shelbyville

Last updated on Thursday, July 31, 2014

(SHELBYVILLE) - The remains of a missing Orange County native have been recovered in Shelbyville and her boyfriend has been arrested and charged with her murder.

46-year-old Scott Wayne Schuck has been charged with the voluntary manslaughter of Rebecca Cassidy, who disappeared on April 10, 2010. Schuck was being held without bond. He is cooperating with police but says he had nothing to do with Cassidy's disappearance.

Shelbyville Police Chief Keith England says officers discovered what they believe to be human remains near Schuck's home.

Cassidy's mother Pam Doty of Orangeville and her brother and sister-in-law are saddened but have a sense of relief now that they have closure.
