Officials Will Fight To Keep Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center Open

Last updated on Wednesday, July 30, 2014

(BROWNSTOWN) - It’s nearly budget time for Jackson County elected officials and department heads, and that means just one thing to Steve Redicker.

There's likely going to be talk of shutting down the 14-year-old juvenile detention center in Brownstown.

"My problem is every year we have to sit here and justify the existence of the center," said Redicker, who became executive director on Jan. 1 after John Long resigned to become a police officer.
