Scott County- Yesterday afternoon, Chris Fugate, 43, of Austin, was jogging west on Booe Road in Austin when he was struck by a vehicle that was travelling east.
After striking Chris Fugate, the vehicle, a gray 2001 Saturn, crashed into a yard south of the roadway.
The driver, later identified as Carrie Brough, 31, from Austin, fled the scene by getting a ride with a passing motorist without checking on the injury status of Chris Fugate.
When an officer arrived on scene he found Chris Fugate injured, lying on the ground, in a ditch, on the north side of the roadway.
He was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY with non-life threatening injuries.
Carrie Brough was arrested later, without incident, after she was located by officers at a residence on Water Tower Road just north of Austin in Scott County.
She was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash, D Felony and Driving While Suspended, A Misdemeanor.
She was incarcerated at the Scott County Jail.
