Man Injured In Accident Shortly After Fight

(HELTONVILLE) - A Bedford man was injured after he crashed his truck on Coveyville Road Tuesday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 54-year-old John Albertson, of 7604 Bartlettsville Rd., was being freed from his 2002 Toyota Tacoma by first responders from both Pleasant Run and Marshall Volunteer Fire Departments, when officers arrived.

Albertson, who suffered a serious head injury with severe bleeding was drifting in an out of consciousness.

According to police Albertson was traveling on Coveyville Road, near Elmer Jack Road when he lost control of his truck, went off the side of the road and struck a tree when over corrected the vehicle which caused the truck to travel back across the roadway and into some heavy brush.

Police say there was extensive damage to the front end of the truck. Police say the windshield was broken from where, Albertson, who was not wearing a seat belt, hit it with his head.

According to police, Albertson had been in a domestic fight just before the accident at a home in the 3300 block of Coveyville Road.
